Preston M. Green Hall

The ESE Master’s Honors Program is intended to recognize the top ESE Master’s students who are also engaging faculty in research. The program will accept applications at the conclusion of each semester.

Students accepted into the ESE honors program will  have their participation in the honors program officially noted on their transcripts. Moreover, those in the program will enjoy expedited consideration for admission to ESE Ph.D. programs.

Requirements for applications:

  • Excellent performance in the classroom

  • ESE research faculty endorsement

  • Enrollment as an ESE master’s student

  • Statement as to why inclusion in the program and research with the endorsing faculty member aligns with career goals.

Requirements while in the program:

  • Maintain academic performance (3.5 GPA or higher)

  • Actively participate in research while in the program

  • Continue to maintain the endorsement of an ESE faculty member conducting research

How to Apply:

Applications must be submitted to the graduate program coordinator. The following information is required:

  • Statement as to why inclusion in the program and research with the endorsing faculty member aligns with the career goals of the student.

  • Endorsement from an ESE research faculty member.

  • Students will be notified as to whether they have been admitted to the program prior to their second semester.
